LN2 bath cryostats (Dewar flasks) are made from DURAN borosilicate glass 3.3 in compliance with DIN/ISO 3585 and have been designed for use with liquid nitrogen. They are used either as a single cryostat or as an LN2 cooling shield for liquid-helium cryostats.
Cryostats are made to order. Changes as to the dimensions, connections or volumes can usually be made at no extra charge. The standard LN2 cryostats come with opposing viewing strips. The cryostats can also be delivered with one viewing strip or fully silvered. Standard cryostats are available in pure glass. For a small additional charge, they can be equiped with a bottom cap or with a aluminum protective cover and viewing strip.
LHe Glass Cryostats
LHe bath cryostats (Dewar flasks) are made from DURAN borosilicate glass 3.3 in compliance with DIN/ISO 3585 and have been designed for the use of liquid helium. Glass cryostats must be designed so that they can be re-evacuated, as DURAN borosilicate glass 3.3 is not helium tight. The standard vacuum connection used is an NW25 glass flange with clamp and O-ring,
The helium cryostats are made to order. Changes as to the dimensions, connections or volumes can usually be made at no extra charge. The standard LHe cryostats come with opposing viewing strips. The cryostats can also be delivered with one viewing strip or fully silvered.

Cryostats with Schott Flange . The top flange of the cryostats is a Schott flange with an O-ring groove. The standard LN2 cryostats come with opposing viewing strips. The cryostats can also be delivered with one viewing strip or fully silvered.
Cryostats with a reduced Diameter LN2 bath cryostats (Dewar flasks) are made from DURAN borosilicate glass 3.3 in compliance with DIN/ISO 3585 and have been designed for the use of liquid nitrogen. They are used either as a single cryostat or as an LN2 cooling shield for liquid-helium cryostats.
LHe bath cryostats (Dewar flasks) are made from DURAN borosilicate glass 3.3 in compliance with DIN/ISO 3585 and have been designed for the use of liquid helium. Glass cryostats must be designed so that they can be re-evacuated, as DURAN borosilicate glass 3.3 is not helium-tight. The standard vacuum connection used is an NW25 glass flange with clamp and O-ring, which makes it possible to establish the connection to the vacuum pump using small flange components made from metal.
LHe Cryostats with reduced diameter are similar to the LN2 versions with a reduced diameter and with a vacuum port for re-evacuation of the insulating space
Cryostats for LHe with LN2 Cooling LHe bath cryostats Type KGZ are made from DURAN borosilicate glass 3.3 in compliance with DIN/ISO 3585 and have been designed for the use of liquid helium. The cryostats have an LN2 cooling shield to reduce the heat load on the liquid helium.
Glass cryostats must be designed so that they can be reevacuated in the area of the LHe tank, as DURAN borosilicate glass 3.3 is not helium-tight. . The top flange of the cryostats is a Schott flange with an O-ring groove.
