Funnels

Graduated funnels are used to introduce solid or liquid media into continuously working glass apparatus. The simplest design are dropping funnels, with or without pressure equalizing tube. Pressure equalizing tubes are necessary when different pressures occur above or below the feed liquid. For vacuum use an equalizing tube is fitted with a single way or three way stopcock.

Funnels are available with a silver coated high vacuum insulating jacket for use at low temperatures.

Tapered glass items are available to US standards ASTM E676
dropping_funnel Dropping Funnels for Normal Pressures Two types are available; type A has no pressure equalizing line and is used to feed vessels. Type B is used when there is a slight overpressure in the receiving flask.
dropping_funnel
Dropping Funnels for use Under Vacuum
two types are available; type A has a one way stopcock and type B has a three way stopcock in the pressure equalizing line.
mariott_tube_funnel
Constant Addition Funnels with Mariott Tube
These funnels can be used under vacuum or under normal pressure. Pressure equalization is achieved by the valve spindle or the Mariott tube.
pressure_eqalizing_funnels

Addition Funnels with Pressure Equalizing Line
These funnels are fitted with a pressure equalizing line controlled with a standard 4mm bore stopcock and an additional pressure equalizing stopcock to the atmosphere.

low_temperature_funnels
Addition Funnels for Low Temperature Applications
These funnels are fitted with a tempering jacket and a silvered vacuum insulating jacket for low temperature fluids. Type A has a spindle valve at the top and Type B has a side located glass needle valve. Pressure equalization is by the valve spindle or by the Mariott tube with a stopcock.
funnels_with _level_float
Addition Funnels with Suspended Level Float
These funnels are for use under vacuum or at normal pressures. The feeding vessel is surrounded by a suspended level float that ensures equalization of pressures. These funnels can therefore be used with oscillating hydrostatic pressures.
solid_addition_funnel Addition Funnels for Solids For controlled addition of dry, granular solids using an auger. The pressure equalizing line has a PTFE spindle valve to enable operation under vacuum or an inert gas. Threaded connections provide excellent grease free seals. To avoid auger sticking with boiling solvents, type B has cooling jacket in the funnel cone.
