Heat Exchangers and Condensers

Heat exchangers are used both for condensing vapor products and for tempering liquids; cooling or heating. They are available in two versions, with jacket or without jacket. The jacketed condenser or heat exchanger has a tempering jacket integrated into the cooling or heating circuit.

Standard versions are shown throughout this section. Special variants can be produced. Contact Finemech at eng@finemech.com for design assistance and quotations.

condensers
Tapered glass items are available to US standards ASTM E676
Liebig Condensers Simple cylindrical condensers with a narrow vapor line, sealed onto the jacket.
Allihn Condensers
The bulb shape reduces vapor flow rate giving a longer heat exchange time.
Product Condensers
With an enlarged contact area for improved hear transfer.
Coil Condensers
Improved design coil arrangement gives a larger surface for heat transfer.
Dimroth Condensers
Dimroth condensers are more effective than conventional coil condensers.
Jacketed Coil Condensers
This design combines jacketed and coil principles to give a large heat transfer area in a minimum overall size. The coolant flow rate is reduced providing higher heat transfer rates.
Rapid Condensers
Defined diameter coolant feed tube to ensure an even flow of coolant to the jacket and the coil.
Low Temperature Condensers
For condensing volatile substances. The condenser has a silver coated high vacuum jacket.
Condenser Accessories
Heat exchanger coils in Copper and Steel, Condenser glass jackets and threaded hose connectors.
