Cold traps are used together with vacuum pumps to collect condensate products that arise from humidity or solvent evaporation. Cold traps are used with all types of vacuum pumps from rotary vane pumps to high vacuum turbomollecular pumps. Coolants are either liquid nitrogen or dry ice with acetone. Cold traps are normally contained in Dewar flasks to ensure that the coolant is insulated and remains active for prolonged periods. KGW manufactures a range of cold raps and accessories and cold trap systems mounted on trolleys with connections for vacuum pumps. |
